We’ve created a truly exceptional flat cap that is sure to surprise many lovers of classic elegance! At Miler Menswear, we commissioned a fabric made exclusively for us at Skye Weavers, a mill located on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Our guiding concept was to design a tweed that pays homage to Talisker whisky and is produced in the very place where this iconic whisky originates—the Isle of Skye!

What did we do?

• Together, we selected two colors of melange yarn made from the wool of British sheep: deep navy and grayish blue.
• When combined, these colors resemble the shade of blue used in Talisker’s brand communication. 
• Skye Weavers is renowned for using a rare weave known as the “diamond weave”, which is essentially a mirrored herringbone pattern. Because this weave is labor-intensive, it is rarely found in mainstream textile production. The pattern evokes the image of the turbulent waters of the Hebridean Sea surrounding the Isle of Skye.
• Skye Weavers is a truly unique mill because the looms used there are not powered by electricity. Instead, they are operated manually, with the weaver driving them through pedal power. 

How to measure your head?

It’s best to measure the circumference of your head at the level of the top of the ear and about 2 cm above the eyebrows. This will help you select the correct size for your flat cap.

Wool – what are its properties?

This fabric is renowned above all for its excellent thermal insulation properties. It provides exceptional comfort and warmth, as well as effective protection against wind and cold. That’s why it is so commonly used in the production of winter garments such as sweaters, hats, and coats. In addition, wool items are naturally resistant to stains and are often said to “clean themselves,” meaning they require less frequent washing or cleaning. Wool also holds its shape well and is resistant to stretching or creasing. Our Talisker men’s flat cap offers even more advantages—it is proudly made in Poland using fabric from the highly regarded Scottish producer Skye Weavers.
