"When you get married, you want to look phenomenal – that’s only natural. So when Maciek Blatkiewicz from the popular blog Maciej je told us he wanted to get married in one of our suits, we were absolutely delighted. Step by step, we introduced him to the world of wedding attire and bespoke tailoring. Today, we invite you to see the results of our collaboration, both in the form of a video report and a stunning photo shoot. Let’s begin!
Maciej’s extraordinary suit
After exploring our extensive range, Maciej chose the Miler Blue suit, created in collaboration between Miler Menswear and Johnnie Walker Blue Label. This truly exceptional made-to-measure garment guarantees versatility — suitable not only for a wedding, but also for other formal occasions.

The suit was made from 150s wool, custom-produced for Miler Menswear by the legendary Italian mill Vitale Barberis Canonico, and finished with a hydrophobic treatment. Its most distinctive feature, however, is the extraordinary illustration printed on the silk lining, which we hand-sewed into the jacket.

Below you will find more photos and a description of the individual elements of the suit.
Our bride and groom were a joy to photograph. We aimed to portray them as naturally as possible. For the wedding session, we chose Poznań’s Ścieżka w Koronach Drzew, a popular walking spot near Lake Malta in Poznań.

Maciej's wedding suit
Maciej opted for a classic two-piece suit with an additional Prince of Wales check vest. The suit features notch lapels that are fairly wide, with flaps proportionally matching Maciej’s frame. We made sure that the gorge — the point where the lapel meets the collar — was set high, which visually elongates and slims the figure. We further enhanced this effect by slightly lowering the suit’s buttoning point, which extended the light V-shaped opening, showcasing a white shirt with a covered placket (a solution we use when styling with a bow tie) and a vest peeking out by one and a half buttons.

Wedding suit pants designed for suspenders
One of the options available in bespoke tailoring is the possibility of making pants with suspenders and a high waist. We had to do a bit of convincing with Maciej, since in current fashion trends (which do not always align with the principles of classic men’s elegance) low-rise pants are most common. However, a high waist — especially when paired with a vest — works wonders for the proportions of the silhouette. We achieved an effect where Maciej’s legs appear long and slender, while the visual boundary of the torso is defined by the vest rather than the anatomical position of the hips. This is just one of many techniques bespoke tailoring can offer to enhance the male figure.

The vest also draws attention. We focused on making the check pattern very subtle, so it is clearly visible up close, but from a distance the checked fabric appears calm and almost solid, avoiding controversy and unnecessary attention. Of course, this can easily be changed by choosing a more extravagant fabric, depending on the client’s preferences.

Accessories - white linen pocket square and self-tie bow tie
There are many approaches one can take when putting together a wedding outfit. Since Maciej does not usually wear suits, we suggested a classic solution — timeless above all, and very safe. Classic style always works and always looks good. We admired Maciej’s bold choice of a bow tie instead of a tie. Of course, a high-quality bow tie should be made of silk and, above all, should be self-tied. Only a hand-tied knot, with its slight imperfections, conveys individuality. That’s why you won’t find ready-tied bow ties at Miler Menswear. To accompany the bow tie, we made Maciej a beautiful white shirt with a covered placket and cuffs for cufflinks. Completing the look is a classic white pocket square made of Irish linen, with hand-rolled edges sewn in our Poznań workshop. In line with the ‘less is more’ principle, the whole ensemble looks perfect.
Let’s not forget about the bride!
It’s a couple that gets married, not just the groom — so it’s worth saying a few words about Sonia’s wedding dress as well.

This is a creation from Atelier Viola Piekut (model Noemi) — classic, elegant, and featuring a striking train in a creamy shade. The geometric off-the-shoulder neckline adds a touch of edge, while the cut perfectly accentuates the best features of the feminine silhouette.
The bride and groom

Our regular audience knows well that we are opposed to excessive coordination of the bride and groom’s outfits. Men’s accessories in the colour of the shoes, dress, or bouquet might appeal at first glance, but they are not a sign of good taste. Maciej and Sonia have no such accents in their attire, yet they still look harmonious and wonderful. Here you have a beautiful, well-matched couple full of love, a joy to look at — and even more enjoyable to share a meal with.
We wish Maciej and Sonia many long, happy years together, and we invite you to Miler Menswear, where we will be delighted to create equally spectacular garments for any gentleman interested!
