For that reason, sleeve length is also crucial—when your arms are relaxed at your sides, the sleeves should extend about one centimeter past your wrist. Additionally, a winter coat should have lapels that naturally point downward, so they can be easily turned up to protect you from the wind on particularly cold days. Gentlemen with a classic silhouette (the so-called inverted triangle) can confidently go for almost any coat cut.
