This technique involves stitching the sole directly to the upper of the shoe. Lyman Reed Blake patented his shoe-sewing machine in 1858, revolutionizing footwear production. While not denying the advantages of the most prestigious shoemaking method—Goodyear welting—with its ability to replace the sole and greater resistance to rain and snow, it is equally important to highlight the benefits of Blake construction. The Blake sole is also highly flexible, which has earned it a loyal following among those who value comfort. Thanks to these qualities, Blake construction has been embraced by the Italian footwear industry as its preferred method.

To make it easier for our customers to choose the size of classic footwear, we express our sizing not by the length of the shoe insole but by the length of the foot, which can easily be measured by oneself in the way described below.
