For what occasion can I wear brown suede brogues from Miler Menswear, and for what occasion should I avoid them?

Brown suede brogues are informal footwear, which results from both their color (black is formal, while brown is informal) and the broguing. Suede brogues pair perfectly with informal suits and coordinated sets with a sports jacket. They also work excellently with a tweed jacket. What's more, these shoes can be worn with chinos and even jeans. They are a fantastic choice for the office, allowing you to look very elegant and neat!

Brown suede brogues by Miler – for what occasion?

How was the sole made in the brown suede brogues from Miler Menswear?

We know all too well the many charms of wearing leather shoes. After years of wearing such footwear, we’ve learned that nothing is more important than the quality of the leather they are made from, and the weak point in using such shoes is the leather sole, which can wear out over time and in winter may even cause slips and falls. We spent a long time thinking about what we could do to create shoes that are visually appealing while also improving their functionality from the sole’s perspective. We therefore decided to go with prestigious leather soles, which are partially rubber-covered in the areas most exposed to wear. Thanks to this, you can:

  • → protect the sole in the area most exposed to wear while still showcasing the fact that it is made of leather.
  • → protect the sole from getting soaked.
  • → protect the wearer from slipping, which can be an issue when wearing the shoes in certain conditions.
  • → save customers the hassle and cost of finding a cobbler to add a rubber sole cover to the shoes.

Brown suede brogues by Miler – how was the sole made?

The brown suede brogues from MILER Menswear are shoes crafted using the Blake stitching method

Alongside Goodyear welting, which is associated with British elegance, Blake is the second traditional method of shoemaking, historically linked to Italian style. This technique involves stitching the sole directly to the upper of the shoe. Lyman Reed Blake received a patent for his shoe-sewing machine in 1858, revolutionizing shoe production. While not denying the advantages of the most prestigious shoemaking method, Goodyear welting—such as the ability to replace the sole and greater resistance to rain and snow—it is also worth highlighting the benefits of the Blake construction. In Blake technology, the sole’s welt is slightly smaller compared to Goodyear-welted shoes, making them appear more compact. The Blake sole is also highly flexible, which has won over enthusiasts with its wearing comfort. Because of these qualities, the Blake construction was adopted by the Italian footwear industry as its leading method.

Brogues – what characterizes this type of shoe?

Brogues are undoubtedly a particularly charming type of footwear. They owe this to their intricate openwork patterns, which also slightly reduce their level of formality. When it comes to colors, it’s definitely best to focus on shades of brown. As an interesting fact, the name itself comes from the Irish language, and the earliest versions of these shoes were worn by… field workers and hunters! Today, however, they have won the hearts of many enthusiasts. This is thanks in no small part to their unique charisma and the comfort they offer. They are simply perfect for those who want to add a touch of individuality to their outfits and develop their own distinctive style.

NAVY SUIT

Brogues pair beautifully with a navy suit, softening its level of formality. In such an outfit, you can opt for a tie with a slightly more casual character – for example, one made of grenadine – or skip the tie altogether and simply leave the top button of the shirt undone. To complete the look, you can place a colorful pocket square with unfolded corners in the breast pocket.

GREY SUIT

Brown brogues pair perfectly with both navy and grey, which means you can confidently combine them with a grey MILER suit. To complete the look, opt for a white shirt with a semi-spread collar and a pocket square folded in a puff style. Just like with a navy suit, a tie here is optional.

JACKET WITH JEANS

The stylistic flexibility of brogues allows us to move effortlessly from suits to… jeans. Brogues pair perfectly even in this more casual setting! To build on this foundation, you can add a sport jacket and a striped shirt. Finish the look with a colorful pocket square, and you’re all set! This combination is ideal for a relaxed stroll or an outing with friends. It’s an option that is not only extremely comfortable but also exudes elegance.

CHINOS AND SWEATER

Jackets, jackets… But there’s also something for fans of even more casual wardrobe pieces. A great example is a V-neck sweater, which can be styled with a cutaway-colar shirt, red chinos, and of course, our reliable brogues!

CHECKED PANTS AND TURTLENECK

Finally, a suggestion for fans of outfits with fewer elements. All you need is a merino wool turtleneck ,for example in green, paired with checked pants and our brown suede shoes. Remember, simplicity is sometimes the best choice!

HOW TO READ A SIZE CHART?

To make it easier for our customers to choose the size of classic footwear, we express our sizing not by the length of the shoe insole but by the length of the foot, which can easily be measured by oneself in the way described below.

1. Place a tape measure or ruler on the floor so that its beginning touches a surface perpendicular to the floor, such as a wall or a piece of furniture (e.g., a wardrobe or the leg of a table):

Jak rozumieć rozmiarówkę? Układ miary

2. Stand on the measuring tape in such a way that your heel rests against any piece of furniture with a surface perpendicular to the floor:

Jak rozumieć rozmiarówkę? Układ stopy

3. Read the length of your foot, then compare the measurement with our size chart and choose your size:

Jak odczytywać długość stopy?

NOTE:
If your big toe is not the longest toe on your foot, align the toe that extends the furthest on the measuring tape.

Knowing the length of your foot in cm, you can easily choose the right size of Miler Menswear shoes. The foot shown in the photo measures 26.7 cm, which makes the appropriate size 41.5 EUR or 7.5 UK.
